Have you ever wanted to create an image that will influence LCA students and become a part of the legacy of Legacy? This was the opportunity given to the first houses of Legacy.

Legacy has decided to take a new approach regarding leadership and competition, much like the house system of Britain and the famous book series written by J.K Rowling. As Jericho Guinn eloquently puts it, “...it’s focusing on leadership and communication which most competitions don't usually include.” The high school has been divided into four houses: Mueller, Elliot, Tozer, and Bonhoeffer. These houses are named after God-fearing evangelists and missionaries that have inspired Christians even after their deaths.

A little back story on each house’s inspiration is important. George Mueller was an evangelist who was reckless in his youth before coming into the light of Christ. He and his wife started an orphanage, trusting only on God’s grace to provide for the children they protected.
Jim Elliot was a missionary who went to the Aucas, an unreached people group, to share the gospel. There was a miscommunication between Jim and the tribe, leading to the Aucas murdering him and his missionary friends, making them martyrs. The jaw dropping fact about this tragedy is that Jim’s wife, Elisabeth, went back to the tribe that killed her husband and successfully shared God’s word with them.
A.W. Tozer was a pastor, writer, and editor of a newspaper. He wrote many classic Christian novels such as The Pursuit of God.
Dietrich Bonhoeffer who acted as a double agent for the Jews. He enlisted as a Nazi, but instead of gathering information about cities for Nazi intellagence, helped Jews escape all while sharing the Word of God.

The houses were introduced at high school orientation in August. Mrs Moore stated, “My favorite part about the high school orientation was seeing all the students again and watching them connect with each other and welcome in the new students.”

Everyone is eager to see how the house system will benefit our school and bring new connections between students at Legacy Christian Academy.
