Legacy’s Got Talent—And Lots Of It!

This last Friday, May 7, 2021, Legacy Christian Academy held its first ever talent show!

All four high school houses were required to have one act involving the whole house, though anyone could do an extra act to earn extra points for their team.

Mueller House did a talent show for their talent show part, amusing and entertaining everyone with their individual acts of ASL, dance, and an ultra special skill, dog petting. Caris Payne and Kelsie Ramirez hosted and everyone really enjoyed their act, which ended in Caden Viss winning the trophy.

Elliot House did a variation of the movie Hercules, instead turning it into King Solomon and his band called the Wise Guys traveling to Jerusalem for the Music Festival. They teamed up with the band The Queens of Sheba and told a story of togetherness in this exciting music number.

Bonhoeffer House did the song “Non-stop” from the Hamilton musical, complete with confettti, drama, and a trust fall at the end! At the beginning of their act, the song Fancy by Iggy Azalea played just to throw everyone off. Participants had a lot of fun—and who doesn’t love Adrian Gonzales (playing Alexander Hamilton) flipping his tailcoat for the audience!

And last, but most certainly not least, was the Tozer house who did a Dancing Through the Decades theme where everyone had to change in and out of different outfits behind a curtain in the nick of time. The audience’s favorite part was probably the 90s section in which Sam Johns put on a wig and Gabe Rodriguez held him up to complete the iconic scene from the movie Titanic.

Everyone had loads of fun and the event reminded everyone just how much fun live performances are and how very exciting and different they are as opposed to just going to the movie theater.

The winner was Elliot House, 2nd place was Tozer, 3rd was Bonhoeffer and 4th was Mueller. Regardless of how the houses placed, every house cheered for the others as if they were the ones who won.
